Fuzzy has recently retired to AFG after 73 races. We are still getting to know him here at AFG. Could Fuzzy be the hound you are looking for?
Fuzzy is a sweet, chill guy who just wants to be your buddy. He is pretty affectionate, but is just as content to go lay down and chew a bone or take a nap. He’s the type that will get up to greet you when you get home from work, but not when you left the room for 2 minutes. After first turn out he likes to come to my side of the bed and get good-morning pets before laying back down. He doesn’t seem to have any food, toy, or space aggression. In fact, he likes to lay next to (or often in bed with) the other dogs. He gets along great with our other dogs (we have a greyhound and non-greys) and pretty much ignores our four crazy cats despite their best efforts. We don’t have small children or small dogs, but we have friends that do and he has been very gentle with them.
We’ve had no problems getting him in the crate when we leave or at bedtime. He does great on walks, he’s not distracted by other dogs or squirrels or cars. He does okay on our stairs (he gets better every day). He really likes toys and it’s hilarious to watch him toss and roll around with a favorite toy. Sometimes he has to be reminded that a sock or towel does not belong to him. He never destroys anything and is easily corrected if he picks up the wrong “toy”. He also does well in the car, but you have to give him a little boost to get in.
So if you are looking for a goofy, sweet, laid-back, cuddle bug (but not a Velcro dog) then Fuzzy is the guy for you.
