Panama has come into retirement after 1 stellar race. Panama was recently returned through no fault of her own. Apartment life wasn’t for her, so a single family home would be the option for her. Could this hot summer in city lady be the one to warm up your home?
My name is Panama and I’m an outgoing sweetheart who is looking for a home that likes to play, go for walks, and receive lots of snuggles and kisses. I’m a pretty active girl so I do need a walk or some zoomie time every day. It’s okay, I love walks and am a very good girl on the leash. With some practice going longer distances, I think I’d be an excellent jogging or hiking partner. While I do get excited when new things happen (I mean don’t you?), I do settle down most of the time for naps or some bone chewing in my bed. I really like all toys, stuffy, squeaky or bones, I’ll try them out. I’m also really good at knowing toy vs. people stuff and don’t try to chew on things that are not for me. I’m a very affectionate snuggly dog so I love to give kisses and get lots of scratches and pets. I am a Velcro dog so I always want to be near my people. I also have some separation anxiety but I have been working on this in my foster home and am doing much better. But you will need to help me keep practicing. I also cry a little bit in my crate when you leave. I’m getting better, but apartment life may not be for me.
I live with dogs (greyhounds and non-greyhounds) and some kitties in my foster home and get along with everyone very well. I play with any of the dogs that want to and like to give them kisses. When I’m trying to sleep I get a little grumpy and may growl if a dog gets too close. Although I don’t seem to mind if people touch or come near me when I sleep, maybe I should always sleep in my own bed. That’s okay I love my doggie bed or will sleep in a crate in your room. I pretty much ignore the kitties except for a few gentle sniffs from time to time. Sometimes they sniff me and I don’t mind. I don’t live with any little humans, but I’m sure once I get over my initial excitement I would love to have a family with kids to play with.
I am a good girl and generally follow the house rules. I don’t chew on things and I potty outside. I went to prison and I am really good at sit, lay down, stay, come, and heel. I also know “go to bed”. While I do whimper in the crate at first, I give up eventually and lay down the whole time. I’m also a very good girl if you need to touch my feet, clip my nails, clean my ears, and brush my teeth. I’m pretty smart, eager to please and very easy to correct so I’m sure you could teach me lots of things if you want.
