Mike has hung up the silk with 94 mind blowing races under his collar. He is still new here at AFG and we are getting to know him better. Could Mike be the hound that is calling your name?
Mike is a beautiful big boy, with big doe eyes. He is shy and sensitive but when he warms up to the people he shares a house with, another side of his personality comes out! He has shown himself to be playful and bouncy, he likes toys, and he loves to come up and give kisses. Even when he’s feeling nervous, and maybe doesn’t want to approach and say “hi” to someone, he will wag his tail and say “hi” from afar. He sometimes needs to chill out in a separate room and relax for a few hours before rejoining the family, but he’s very good at self-regulating and will remove himself when he feels overwhelmed. This is a balance though, he will need to be pushed to grow and experience new things in his new home as well as be allowed times to rest and recover.
He does really well living with cats in his foster home and adores having a k9 foster sibling to chase around the yard and go on long walks with.
He would do best in a home that already has a confident dog who can help show him the ropes.
