Otis has retired after 46 whiplash races. He is still new to us here at AFG and we are getting to know him better. Due to a race injury that ended Otis’ career, he is looking for a forever home that either leash walks or has a very small yard to avoid high impact exercise. Could this handsome hound be the one for you?
Otis is an outgoing affectionate dog. He loves to give hugs and kisses. He loves pets and attention, but is also happy to just chill and be around you. You can catch him in the study (aka a great assistant worker) sleeping with all four paws up and a big smile on his face.
He does have a rear left hock injury. Although he puts less weight on this rear leg, he loves walks and it is using it more each day. We use a harness with Otis and he responds well on walks. We do let him out in our smaller backyard with our personal hound supervised to pee. Otis does well in his crate both overnight and while we are out running errands. He is also fed in his crate. He is tolerant of daily tooth brushing and handled a bath well.
