Wolfie has hit retirement early after 43 races at Tri-State in West Virginia. He is still new to us here at AFG and we are getting to know him better. Wolfie has had a career ending injury to his hock that will require a home to leash walk him only. Could this hot boy from the hills be the walking companion for you?
Wolfie is a sweet, spunky boy. Wolfie is a great combination of a quiet, confident boy with a bit of a mischievous streak. Wolfie has an “old soul” persona to him; he definitely looks like a wise dog. Don’t let this fool you though because he can be curious and sassy at times as well! Wolfie lives for affection; he will stand and lean on you for hours if you will give him pets. He loves toys, treats, and love from anyone at any time.
Wolfie likes routines and is a dog that just goes with the flow. He is a confident hound and good with the other dogs and cats, even when they invade his personal space. He is absolutely wonderful on drives and will lay down immediately in the backseat and stay down for the entirety of the ride, although he loves to take up the entire space if you allow him to. If you’re looking for a traveler, he would be a wonderful companion!
Wolfie had a hock injury so will sometimes take the weight off his leg or limp a little bit. It doesn’t seem to hurt him but he will limp a bit more when he first gets up in the morning or has been walking for awhile. This means that he will need a leash walk only home to prevent him from running full out. He is good on the leash and is definitely easy to put on a routine in terms of being let out. Wolfie is good at knowing his limits and will go on walks and stand up for hours without much of a problem. He definitely enjoys laying around for most of the day like a true greyhound though! Wolfie is a confident, easygoing hound with warm eyes and loving personality.
