Hugh has come into retirement with 20 races under his muzzle. He is still new to us here at AFG and we are getting to know him better. Could this red headed kid be the one for you?
Hugh is a shyer but extremely affectionate and goofy boy. Hugh would be completely happy crawling into your lap and tries multiple times a day even though he weights 70+ lbs. He loves to put his feet on your lap and have you give him hugs and neck scratches. However, he is also quite content to curl up on his bed and chew a nylabone for hours. It took Hugh a little bit to warm up, but once he did, he became a goofy character and will frequently make us laugh with his unexpected antics.
Hugh could benefit from another dog around. He is good with cats and kittens and mostly wants to give them kisses. He has a tendency to look towards the other hounds for advice on what he should be doing and guidance. He will watch what they get rewarded for and learn to do that. He LOVES when you talk to him in funny voices or get excited about him being around and will prance in place. He also loves food, any food, all food, so make sure to watch him around your plates otherwise he will sample. Hugh is a good boy who loves a good sleep when he can flap his lips and cradle his nylabone.
