Catalina has  come into retirement with no registered races.  She is still new here at AFG and we are getting to know her and her sister, Marshmellow, a little bit better.  Could this little gal be the one for you?

Hi my name is Catalina. I’m a happy-go-lucky, friendly girl in search of a forever home. My favorite things are squeaky toys, pets, snuggles, and soft beds. At first I pretended to be a little shy, but now I’ve come out of my shell a bit and decided that I love attention. I am very friendly to strangers, I will lean right on anyone who wants to give me love. I’ll even give you soft kisses. I don’t have any kids in my foster home, but I really like them and am very gentle. I’m a pretty chill girl and if you aren’t petting or playing with me, I’m very content to just hang out in my bed to nap or chew a bone. Although I’m pretty young, I don’t really have any of that puppy energy they keep talking about. Okay, I do have a little bit of puppy sass and curiosity, but I’m quickly learning that slippers, socks, and the mail are NOT toys. I’m very good at “leave it” and “no”.

I get along great with the dogs and cats in my foster home. I like to hang out and play with the other dogs. I’ll do zoomies with the other greyhounds if I feel like it. But I’m also pretty content to just do my own thing. If you have another dog great, if not, more pets for me. I also live with some kitties. I am gentle and won’t hurt them, but I’m curious about them and am still trying to negotiate our friendship. If the foster parents tell me no or the kitties growl at me, I leave them alone and go lay down. I don’t have any space issues. If I’m awake I don’t mind if the other dogs snuggle me, but if they bump me when I’m sleeping I might let out a little growl. Can you blame me? I haven’t had this problem with people. I would love for them to lay in bed with me.

I’ve learned a lot of things in my foster home. Did you know you aren’t supposed to take off your own muzzle? I don’t do it outside, just in the house. I’m pretty good at stairs. I’m much better going up than down. So if you have steep or slippery stairs you may have to practice with me. But I do great on smooth floors. I’m good at riding in the car, but I need a little help getting in. I don’t mind if you touch my feet, brush my teeth or take me by my collar. I have absolutely no problems with my crate. I go right in and lay down. I even put myself to bed every night. I always potty outside. I’m good on the leash and like to go for walks. I’m very quiet and laid back so I’d be great in an apartment (or if you just like those things).

I’m looking for a home where I can just hang out in my bed, play with my squeaky toys, chew a bone, and get lots of love. I’d be happy in a home with dogs, cats, and/or kids, but would also be content as the only pet.
