Vamp has hung up her racing silk after 70 races. She is still new to us here at AFG and we are getting to know her a little bit better. Could this sweet gingersnap be the one for you?
Hi my name is Vamp. Do you like kisses, going for walks, and playing with toys? These are my favorite things. I’m an affectionate, curious, and friendly girl. I’m not afraid of anything and am actually curious about new situations. I love to lean in for a good pet or snuggle and love everyone even strangers. I really like to play with all toys, but the ones I can squeak and the ones I can chew are my favorite. I also play fetch. Are you looking for someone to take on walks? Walks are SO fun and I’m a very good girl on the leash. I sometimes get double leashed with another dog and I do well with that too. I like people and other dogs a lot, but I’m perfectly content to entertain myself and lay in my bed.
In my foster home, I live with other big dogs (both greyhounds and other dogs) and four crazy kitties. Of course, I like to hang out and do zoomies with the other greyhounds. One of their other dogs tries to do zoomies with us and we all play together. She and I like to hang out in the pool together on a warm day after we play. We all get along great. I would be a great dog friend to a greyhound or non-greyhound. I sometimes grumble when another dog tries to take my toys or kicks me in my sleep, but I don’t have any space, toy, or food issues. I really like the kitties and want them to be my friends. At first, I tried to get the cats to play with me, but they made it clear they weren’t interested. I don’t chase them, but I do still like to sniff them and check in with them sometimes. I have pretty much decided they are boring. I am very easy to correct so if you tell me LEAVE IT or the kitty makes angry noises I immediately leave them alone. I might need to live with confident cats and/or people that will remind me cats don’t like to play when I meet new cats.
I’m a very good girl. I only go potty outside. I know the difference between toys and not toys. I do really like blankets, but I like to snuggle them not rip them. I don’t mind if you cut my nails, brush my teeth, or clean out my ears. Wood floors and stairs are not a problem for me. Riding in the car is easy. I just jump right in and lay down. I have no problems going into my crate. Ask me to and I go right in when you leave or at bedtime. I’m a pretty easy going lady.
If you want a new best friend that is affectionate and playful, while still being pretty laid back and well behaved, I might be the snuggle buddy you are looking for.
