Slacker has decided to retire after 77 races and after graduating from The Greyhound Inmate Experience. Slacker was recently returned to AFG. He has decided that he needs a home with boundaries and structure. Slacker is a vocal hound and is on the lookout for intruders. If you don’t mind having a nosy neighbor, Slacker is the dude for you. Slacker is a one of a kind boy who is looking for a one of a kind home. He is a striking male who retired to AFG after 77 races at tracks in Sarasota and Ebro FL. He then went on to complete the The Greyhound Inmate Experience. He was returned from his first home due to reactive behaviors (see foster profile for more info) and has been working hard in his foster home to get ready for his forever home.
If you are looking for a decorative couch potato that you can stick in the backyard from time to time, Slacker is not your dog. Slacker would be a great fit for someone who would enjoy engaging in regular behavioral training with him to help Slacker become the best version of himself. Don’t worry – he will pay you back tenfold with eagerness and affection. Slacker is looking for a home that can provide him with clear expectations, routines and boundaries from the start and who can lead him with confidence.
Slacker is a well educated hound – as a graduate of the prison program he has learned his basic commands; heal, sit, lie down, and shake. He is currently enrolled in a reactive management during leash walking course where he will pick up even more cool tricks! Working with Slacker is fun since he is both very food motivated and goofy :).
Slacker is a playful boy who enjoys tossing around toys and chasing his foster sister (greyhound) around in the yard. That being said, he also lounges the day away in true greyhound fashion. Slacker is a super sweet boy who attaches quickly to his people. We often joke that his name should have been Stalker instead of Slacker because he’s always one step behind you.
