Spot has come to retirement after 48 races to his muzzle. He is still new to us here at AFG and we are getting to know him better. Spot did test positive for heartworm, but has been treated and has a clean bill of health! Could this stunning son be the one for you?
Hi my name is Spot. I am an easy going, friendly guy. I like to meet new people and try new things, but I’m also perfectly content to hang out in the dog bed. While I am interested in pets and love from everyone, it sometimes takes me a few minutes to show you how affectionate I can be. I don’t kiss on the first date. Once we get to know each other, I’m a real lovey boy who is happy to greet you and get pets and snuggles. My favorite is neck scratches. Although I am affectionate, I’m not very needy so you can tell me to go lay down….or you can keep petting me, either is fine. Despite being a big boy, I’m very polite and gentle. I even patiently wait my turn to get pets. My favorite toy is the Kong (no treats required). I also like squeaky toys and bones. I’m still figuring out going in straight lines on a walk, but I really like to go on walks and I don’t pull even with distractions. I also really like hanging out in the doggie pool.
In my foster family, I live with three greyhounds and a Doberman mix. I love them all and I hate to pick a favorite, but I love my Doberman mix. So, if you have another dog, I don’t care what breed it is as long as they want to play with me. I might need some time to get to know a little dog, because they make me a little excited when I play in the yard. I also live with some kitties. At first, I was a little excited by the kitties, but quickly learned that when I get too close to them they make the angry noises and the scratches. I mostly ignore them now, except for a gentle (and cautious) hello on occasion. I don’t live with any little humans, but I have met a few and I like them a lot. Even though I’m a big boy, I am gentle with the little humans.
I’m a very well-mannered boy. I don’t have any issues with food, toys, or space. I tolerate having my nails trimmed and teeth brushed. I do like my fur brushed. I’m a good boy in my crate. I do make a little noise in my crate when you get home, but not much. I am good with smooth floors and stairs. I’ve only had a couple potty accidents in the house. I think I figured out which things are toys and which are NO leave it things. I really want you to be happy and I correct well.
