Hailey just retired to AFG with no races to her credit. She is a reserved girl that still learning about retired life. Could Hailey be the hound for you??
It’s easy to want to snatch this little girl up because quite frankly she’s just way too stinking cute. That being said she’s going to need a family that is willing to be patient with her. It’s easy to say “we’ll work through it” until you’re getting up at 3 a.m. to let her out for a potty break, or dealing with her nervousness when she’s scared and wants to be left alone. Once you work through the initial adjustment phase you’ll be rewarded with a really sweet girl. She may go through a bit of a reset going into a new home but she will get used to her new settings and begin to settle in after a short while. Other than barking at her toys when she’s all worked up she’s a very quiet girl and you’d hardly know she’s there. Unless you have food then she’s trying to climb on top of you. Hailey should do well in most homes but with her fondness for kids we think she’d do best in a home with children. She takes comfort in people and has shown to bond with kids quite well. Getting along with other dogs hasn’t been an issue at all. At the end of the day she wants to be with her people more than other hounds.
Hailey was one of our family’s race hounds but she never got to actually race. With her not being a fan of the outdoors it wasn’t going to make for much of a career, thus she retired before ever having an official race. We did have the privilege of watching her grow up and knowing her as a puppy. Although she isn’t our typical foster dog by being more reserved it’s still been a joy to have her and look forward to seeing her find her forever home.
