George just retired to AFG after 89 races! He’s a new retiree we are still learning about. Could George be the hound for you??
George raced 89 races and was very successful. He came from Iowa originally and also raced in Florida. He’s a sweet big boy that aims to please. He is very smart underneath his playfulness. He needs a home who can set strict rules for him and let him know what is expected of him.
George has been in his foster home for several weeks now and is doing great. He has adapted very well to our home and continues to get along well with the other greyhounds in the household. He is no longer guarding beds and seems to have gotten over his space issues. They may manifest themselves again in his new home at first, but he should correct easily as he did here with consistent redirection. He does bark in his crate when we get home because he seems ready to get out, but not anxiously so. He likes to pick up toys and carry them around and will also shake them into the air. He loves to be petted, sitting and standing by you quietly as long as you are willing to give him attention. George is a confident boy and has not developed any fears and seems to learn quickly. He really is a sweet, wonderful guy!
