Randy has retired after 38 races around the oval. Randy injured his right hock in his last race and is still recovering. He is using it very well but would do best to start in a home that leash walks or a has a very small yard to avoid any high impact running while it continues to strengthen. He is still new to us here at AFG and we are getting to know him better. Could this bundle of fun be the guy for you?
Randy is such a special guy. When he first arrived in his foster home he was more reserved, but with a few weeks has settled in and has started doing little bouncy dances when he gets excited. He gets especially excited when he sees that we’re going out for a walk! (And when he sees that it’s mealtime). He takes guidance well when walking on the leash and is learning to walk beside his foster mom instead of pulling ahead.
He does well on walks with his leg that was injured and doesn’t baby it or limp on it. Consideration is still taken to not stress the leg, so walks have been gradually increased to see where his limit is, but he’s been a trooper so far.
Ear rubs are one of his favorite things in the world! He will happily stand by you with his head hidden in the crook of your arm as you rub his ears or neck. He’ll actually groan on occasion when you get just the right spot.
He lives in harmony with one other greyhound and two cats in his foster home and is generally a sweet happy dude who’s easy to live with.
