This little spicy girl never raced. Piren LOVES attention and affection and has confidence in spades. She came to us from Kansas and is ready to get your attention!
Hello my name is Piren. I am an affectionate girl who wants to be everyone’s friend. I’m two years old and have lots of puppy energy, so my new home will have to be ready for mischief! I do a lot of the cute things that humans like, but will push boundaries. Usually I find a bone, & lay down to chew it, but am equally interested in grabbing laundry, cat toys, tv remotes, etc, so I need a watchful eye to make sure I stick to dog toys. I’m a Velcro girl who always wants to be near my people. I would very much like to join the humans on the couch, but the humans say it’s rude that I invite myself up. I just want to cuddle so much and they need to know it! I think a patient human who is firm and consistent can help me improve my manners.
I like to play with my greyhound and non-grey foster siblings in the yard, but also in the house. I don’t really like to be told what to do by the other hounds and we’ve had a couple squabbles. I love other dogs but might do best with dogs that let me be the boss. I like the kitties that live in my foster home, and would like to snuggle with them, but sometimes want to chase them if they run past me. I’m perfectly safe for the cats but may play a little ruff for some kitties.
I respond well to physical affection, and sometimes take it as a sign that you want to play with me. I could do well with older children and teens, but my excitement might be too much for younger children. I sleep well in the crate at night, and will accept going in the crate during work hours, but when you get home I get really impatient and will howl to make sure you let me out.
I am a bit new to grooming activities like tooth brushing, nail clipping, but like the reward of affection and could get used to them. I jump in the car, but still need some practice. I have not had any potty accidents in the house since my first few weeks in my foster home. I do well with smooth floors and have no issues with stairs. I’m fearless, so I have no issues with any new situations or adventures.
If you’re looking for the joys and affection of a teenaged pup, I might be the spirited girl for you!
