Lela is a sweet, confident girl with lots of love to share! She loves ear rubs and neck scritches and will happily chitter away as she gets attention. Lela settled into her foster home easily, trying out all the dog beds and toys. She enjoys all types of toys and loves tossing them around and collecting them around her crate and bed. When she’s ready to nap, she’ll plop down anywhere to roach with her feet in the air.
Lela gets along well with the other greyhounds and the cat in her foster home and respects their space, but she definitely wants her share of attention from her humans! She can be a little bossy when she wants something, and her mama dog instincts sometimes make an appearance. She would do well with other dogs or as an only dog in the home. At meet and greets she has been interested in people and other animals and is polite when greeting them.
Lela enjoys running along the fence line with the neighbor’s dog, and she loves zooming around the yard and taking naps in the sunshine. She gets very excited when she spots squirrels and bunnies outside and would love to chase them down. She can be sneaky about doorways and will slip through an opening if given the opportunity, so careful attention should be paid when entering and exiting the home.
She is alert to anything new and exciting happening outside the house and will leave fantastic nose art (smudges) on your windows. So far, she has been tolerant of tooth brushing and nail filing, and she enjoys being brushed. She will occasionally bark or whine when she is excited, but she usually stops when she knows she has your attention. She takes correction and redirection well and has been a very well-behaved dog.
