Suki has come into retirement with no registered races to her name. She is still new to us here at AFG and we are getting to know her better. Suki is very shy, just like her sister Shelley. It will take a special family with lots of love and patience to help her overcome her shyness. Another canine in the home will help her figure things out as well. Could you help this little dark haired beauty come into the light?
Suki is a very sweet and special girl. Suki came from a shy litter, and has been working on coming out of her shell in a foster home. In the home she can be very playful and affection to the people she feels comfortable with. She is making strides every day with opening herself up to new things and people. She is currently in a leash walk home, so she is used to going on walks and will potty on lead. She does seem to do better on lead when another greyhound is present to give her confidence. She may do better with a fenced in yard if she were to be an only hound, but could definitely be a leash walk dog if the home had another hound present. Just like many toddlers she is still working on potty training a little bit. She has come a long way, and what we have found works best is taking her out to pee before crating and crating if leaving the room. She has a hard time holding it if she has to go so it’s important to get her right out in the morning. Some of it we believe was related to separation anxiety, so we have been utilizing her crate if she needs to be unsupervised. She is a very affectionate girl. She loves to be pet and get attention, and gets really excited and playful at time. The times we see her play the most are right when she comes out of the crate where she’ll zombie through the house, and towards the end of the night she’ll throw a toy around and wiggle all over the floor. Overall Suki is a fun, young, playful, shy, sweet little girl. This little black jellybean is as cute as a button! She would do well with another canine and a family. While is a little reserved, that doesn’t stop her from coming up to you for lots of pets.
