Claire just retired to AFG after 124 races and graduating from The Greyhound Inmate Experience! Claire is an absolute doll. She travels well in the car, settling right in for the ride. She seems pretty un-phased by the commotion at a meet and greet, or even other dogs walking over her. Instead she focuses on soaking in the attention, asking for a belly rub or napping. She is ready to find her forever family and settle in to retirement. Could Claire be the hound for you??
Claire retired to AFG following her successful career as a grade A racer in Florida. Her first stop in retirement was completing The Greyhound Inmate Experience. Claire’s prison handlers speak very highly of her, and gave her the nickname Claire Bear. She is cute as a button, wags her tail constantly, and loves to receive belly and leg rubs. She is still settling into the home environment, but is learning very quickly. It quickly becomes apparent that Claire loves food more than life itself. She will try anything you ask, and even performs tricks you don’t ask for in an effort to earn a treat. Claire still has bursts of puppy playfulness and loves to squeak her toys. She will follow you all around the house, but if you leave her alone for a few minutes she will usually settle in for a long nap. One of her favorite napping positions is legs up in the air roaching. She is a little wary of all the new noises, especially as she is leash walking. Claire seems to really seek out human companionship but has also interacted well with the other dogs she has encountered. We are sure this little girl will make her forever family very happy!
