Packie didn’t race but is ready for the routine of a new home! This young girl can be sweet but also might be a bit nervous in new situations. Is Packie the brindle for you?

This is Packie, she is a beautiful brindle hound. Packie is still learning things. She enjoys playing with toys, going on walks, getting pets, and interacting with humans. She currently lives with two hounds and would benefit from having another hound. Packie is very curious and likes to zoom. She does not know how to play, but will learn.

Behavioral notes:

  • Packie is fearful on walks. She is getting better, but lawn mowers, kids on bicycles, large cars, trucks, and other loud things are scary to Packie. She pulls a bit too, especially when she is scared. She also likes critters and has a fairly high prey drive.
  • She also lives with two cats. She mostly interacts with one of them and he’s interesting but not a toy according to her understanding.
  • Packie appreciates huma interaction, new people, and pets. While she can be a bit fearful, she is very excited about new experiences.
  • While being fostered, Packie got sick and developed pancreatitis. We are not sure if that is temporary (although the vet said it likely was). She completed her meds and we are watching her.
  • Packie is still in her thieving phase. For her first few weeks, she was actively stealing things on a daily basis but that is calmning down as she is learning her foster home’s rules.

In our opinion, Packie would do best in a house with another hound and a fenced in yard. She is adaptable enough that living in a city would be fine as long as you understand she would need to get used to noise.
